A L.O.V.E. LETTER TO THE FUTURE
Keep Your Chin Up (KYCU) began more than twenty years ago with only a dream and a prayer. It started with nine prose pieces and nine talented high school students willing to dream big with me. Together we created the Keep Your Chin Up book. The goal was to provide an opportunity for the students to showcase their talents and to raise $2000 for a Keep Your Chin Up Scholarship. On the morning of September 11, 2001, when America was called upon to keep her chin up, the first Keep Your Chin Up Scholarship was distributed. The tiny project became an official 501(c)3--THE KEEP YOUR CHIN UP ORGANIZATION, INCORPORATED. The Keep Your Chin Up Organization develops and supports programs and projects that promote literacy, leadership development, overcoming obstacles, self-value, civic engagement, and education.
